The Future of SEO - 2017 - Part II - Drone Delivery, Emoji #hashtags and Voice Search

Drone Delivery, Emoji, #Hashtags and Voice Search.

What do all of the above have to do with SEO?

Did you count four objects or two in the question above?

Drone Delivery - this isnt the article on drone delivery, Google wants to do it for $6.. i say connect them with Cinnabon first? they aren't in the drone business. yet. if..

Google want's to deliver food for $6.
(I think this may be a possible solution/partnership for Cinnabon?)
😉

Why? Because Amazon is delivering things from voice search already.
Right?

Amazon has done drone delivery now.. (see news articles below), naturally if i order a microwave, a toaster or some type of small appliance it would be to large to be shipped on a drone by Amazon? So drone delivery is limited to weight? size? what?

Here is what i have set as a hard limit for my drone delivery task.

A Startup for GIFs?

IS GIF a language? Have seen people speak on twitter in gifs only.. have you ever searched for a GIF on twitter and gotten advertisements? Are you optimizing your brand for GIF search? Similar to the Google Images land grab when people want to make sure and own the top images for a brand in case they showed up in Google Universal Search.
P.s. There is a #Startup for that..

Emoji and Hashtags (don't work) in Voice Search. Think about it. again.. yet.
Until last week, there was not an Emoji Skill on LinkedIn.
(#facepalm - hashtags as a skill? Voice Search Optimization? )

Emoji is like Schema, the unicode sets the rules for Emoji. There are many different platforms for Emoji, Kimoji is one, Bitmoji is another.. neither of these contain Unicode approved emoji. Hashtags like emoji.. are not standardized.. if you are a consumer facing brand, you might not want to use some hashtags in social campaigns because a hashtag is not limited to a location or culture or school of thought.. #thot? (don't use that hashtag..)

The Future of SEO - 2017 - Part One

Excerpt;
On the first full day that we had a Google Home in our house, we interacted with it 473 times over the course of the day. Four hundred of those were my two-year-old asking it to play “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways, followed by his mother or me interrupting with, “Hey Google! Stop!”
(Look, I love that song, too, but enough is enough, you know?)
The point is, watching the way that my family interacts with the device, and how often they interact with it, I’m more inclined to believe the forecast that sales of Amazon Echo and Google Home type devices will go from 1.8 million this year to 15.1 million in 2020.

You ask.. “Why is this that important? How is this a complete paradigm shift Steve?”

Chatting with customers is a new Google My Business feature that’s currently available only to a select group of business owners. If you received an email from Google inviting you to participate in the pilot, click the link from the email and use the instructions below to start messaging with customers.

(we went from . Google Assistant. To Google My Business above – did you catch where Google is headed..? )

Local Retailers Google will need chat messaging enabled for the text reader to be able to communicate with the retail location. Via these devices.

We can’t, (yet), order something from Walmart over Google Home device like we can Amazon Echo/Alexa (which has its own database of products that Google doesn’t have yet)

Any customer with multiple locations or products will need to provide this “content” for chatbots.. just like we created websites for the web, apps for mobile devices and videos for youtube.
The “platform” for IoT is descriptive data and the accurate retrieval of said information about a product.. is the description different at Kroger? Is there different packaging or labeling than some other retailer?

They, Google, would like businesses to adopt the use of Allo – which is about messaging, stickers, emojis…

They took social mobile first. To use the voice assist.
Introducing Google Allo, a smart messaging app that helps you say more and do more. Express yourself better with stickers, doodles, and HUGE emojis & text. Allo also brings you the Google Assistant.

Google wants to leapfrog the text message between business and consumer.
Consumers interact with business via Google Maps.
“Ok google call (insert brand name).”

Right now Google Home will not remember which Walmart or Kroger you shop at. yet.. (working on it)

NOTE: Google Assistant is the phone part, that works with the Google Home unit.

Right Now.. today.. Google Home is kinda useless until you are a programmer, however there are many scripts that can be loaded via IFTTT to add these commands..

How can we add these commands, objects, touch points on behalf of a brand to these devices?

Bias in journalism spreads hate and discord.

Sometimes.. 140 characters is just not enough.

Brian,
What is Bias?

When i was in high school (the 80's) (magnet school for radio/tv broadcasting), we studied journalism and commincations. Concepts like Marshall McLuhan - the medium is the message.. Ansel Adams aying "no posed pictures" - which means dont make up news. However in the age of social media.. lots of news is made up, posted online then shared... When false news is shared this is an example of bias.. or laziness?

So let's use as an example, the current election..

We know Fox News has bias.. during the primary it was all too obvious.. whomever spent the most money in advertising was the candidate of choice..  i.e. Ted Cruz.. but hey, we all know Fox News is FAR right leaning and biased.. Why is bias so bad? We expect our journalists to be honest. When bias occurs the journalist is pushing an agenda.. for example. Recent hate crimes against people done by Trump supporters against minorities or women.

We know FoxNews channel is biased for republicans.. (some republicans.. this one gets his news from CNBC), we then extrapolate that either CNN or MSNBC is biased for the democratic party.
CNBC would be thought to be republican biased but they arent, it seems if we want the biased republican view, we look to Fox.. CNBC is pretty much unbiased.. it's all about money..

Which then leads me to the next idea that.. lots of the "prejudicial" leanings of President-elect Trump. Observation on Trump... it's about money.. it's about greed... not race.. who can make  Trump the most money.

With endorsements from narrow minded bigots like  Duck Dynasty... Trump didnt help the racist, xenophobic view or his campaign, it made it worse.. for me at least.

Bias in statistics means that "a systematic distortion of a statistical result due to a factor not allowed for in its derivation."  basically.. Trump mentions are overwhelmingly proving he is a racist on social media... What if he isnt? What is Trump said outrageous things to stay in the news cycle.. he didnt.. what if he said these things to reach out to the fringe voters... he did.. so Trump's campaign reinforced the idea he was a racist because is made news... note: skipping over misogyny and sexisim.. because Trump is kind of a frat boy douchebag when it comes to this.. which means that every sexual assault accusation, MUST be true? right? wrong.. this is also bias..

We assume since Trump's locker room talk with Billy Bush. that every single accusation MUST be true...

Many Americans also assumed Hillary Clinton was telling the truth all the time.

Politics breeds bias... it breeds divisiveness - Love Trumps Hate... Stronger Together...

IF.. Love Trumps Hate.. then the sign should say.. "Love and Forgive Trump", right?

What is that saying? if too many people are trying to persuade you to do something, you probably shouldn't do it.

i.e. you dont believe me.. believe Katy Perry or Vivica Fox.. which i would tend to.. i respect Vivica Fox.. but she is biased for Hillary because.. (i dont actually know why)

Brian,
I've watched you and followed since you hit CNN, i suggested Don Lemon as a contact.. he tries the hardest of anyone broadcasting to remain unbiased. He and I have had this conversation in person.. I still follow you on twitter.. but the bias isnt telling the whole story, just one side of i?

On Twitter, everyone has a voice.. Retweeting others with false information means that you are putting out that same false information.

On Bias.. yes Sean Hannity is a FAR RIGHT leaning Biased radio and telelvision broadcaster..  but doesn't that mean he is a journalist?  or does bias.. now rule that out and he is just a "conservative pundit"... as opposed to wacko drug addict.. Rush Limbaugh..  who we know is full of the poop emoji.

OR am i right.. and a true journalist is someone without bias.. telling the truth to the public...regardless or opinion.. political affiliation .. sexual orientation.. cultural background (race is outdated concept), or religious beliefs. Maybe this fits into your anti-media concept? basically.. i follow you on twitter.. and it seems like to dont like Trump and it's coming through on your reporting.. which includes twitter.. and your retweets..

Open Graph Meta Tags

The Open Graph protocol enables any web page to become a rich object in a social graph. For instance, this is used on Facebook to allow any web page to have the same functionality as any other object on Facebook.
While many different technologies and schemas exist and could be combined together, there isn't a single technology which provides enough information to richly represent any web page within the social graph. The Open Graph protocol builds on these existing technologies and gives developers one thing to implement. Developer simplicity is a key goal of the Open Graph protocol which has informed many of the technical design decisions.

Mobile Search - Rich Cards - Google Now

Rich cards are a new Search result format building on the success of rich snippets. Just like rich snippets, rich cards use schema.org structured markup to display content in an even more engaging and visual format, with a focus on providing a better mobile user experience.
Evolution of search results for queries like [peanut butter cookies recipe]: with rich cards, results are presented in carousels that are easy to browse by scrolling left and right. Carousels can contain cards all from the same site or from multiple sites. From Google Webmasters Blog

Schema for Retail: Enabling Rich Snippets for Products #SEO #guano

SEO Guano
If you're a merchant, you can give Google detailed product information that we can use to display rich snippets (for example, price, availability, and review ratings) right on our search results pages.
Using markup to enable rich snippets lets you:
  • Attract potential buyers while they are searching for items to buy on Google.
  • Control your product information. You can maintain the accuracy and freshness of your product information, so your customers find the relevant, current items they're looking for.

Trigger a Google Now Card via Email

Google Now relies on structured data compatible with schema.org in emails to work. This lets Google understand the fields in your email and construct a Google Now card with the relevant information for the recipient. Only some card types are supported by Google Now.
Schemas in Gmail support both JSON-LD and Microdata and you can use either of them to markup an email. There are two ways of adding semantic markup to your email - you can author the markup yourself or use the Markup Helper to get you started by adding markup to an existing email.

FREEDOM FROM FACEBOOK

Once Upon a Time..
I applied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
At the time I didn't know what kind of work i would be doing as a hacker or "special agent". I didnt want to put any of my family members in danger so i used my Disc Jockey identity as my "psuedonym".

pseu·do·nym
ˈso͞odnim/
noun
  1. a fictitious name, especially one used by an author.
synonyms:pen namenom de plume, assumed name, false name, alias, professional name, sobriquetstage namenom de guerre
"Geisel was best known by the pseudonym 'Dr. Seuss'"

(Hint: Any Facebook employees should read up on this simple concept to date i have used this word in 23 emails with Facebook and got tired of them not reading emails. Basically just wasting my time. Which is really what bored people do now, instead of visiting people, reading books or looking for real human interaction. This excessive online socialization has destroyed lives, families, relationships and made life more impersonal.)

Many people actually knew Steve Plunkett only as "Paisley"

So most of my online identity was under the name "djpaisley" or "Paisley Amoeba".
The first social network I used this name on was AOL in 1993 and was very successful in tracking down pedophiles in AOL chat rooms and saved several children from death and exploitation. AOL later bought Netscape and this identity was used again as an editor for DMOZ or the Open Directory Project.

Don Lemon of CNN was an online friend of Paisley and he freaked out when we met in person and probably still knows me as Paisley, not Steve Plunkett.

After AOL there was IRC, (Internet Relay Chat), Friendster, Friendzy and MySpace. At the same time i became interested in Search Engine Optimization and Online Reputation Management. As part of my job at an ISP and Web Development firm in 1995.  I would make sure no one could find out anything about "Steve Plunkett" online by using this online identity. (This is called ORM - Online Reputation Management. Now I have been doing this as a day job since about 2003 and most recently for a political candidate)

I interacted with many people famous and infamous as paisley online and have made great friendships with people i admire greatly. (name dropping omitted)

Many were on MySpace that transferred mostly to Twitter when i got a beta invite in March of 2007. Since then Twitter has been the way i connect and communicate with the world, not text... today... http://twitter.com/djpaisley is a Bot.. an #AI i created so people could request music.. i still use it today when i want to communicate with those people that i don't really want to bring into my workplace.. tweeting to @luciferonFox even though it is a successful television show isnt "work friendly" or tweeting with tcast members from the television show The Magicians about things that aren't work conversation. That is what @StevePlunkett is for.. work conversations.. with the world.. about food.. see #NomNomNom or maybe an experimental focus and cognition formula #NZT51x inspired by the Movie and Television show Limitless.

to be continued...
